SEPTA is getting ready to begin the Elwyn to Wawa Service Restoration Project. The three-mile service restoration project costing approximately $177.8M will extend service on the Media/Elwyn Regional Rail Line from the existing terminus at Elwyn Station to a new, fully-ADA compliant station and 600 car parking deck in Wawa. When completed in 2022, the project will enhance SEPTA service to Middletown Township, Chester Heights and western Delaware County.

QUESTIONS:
1) What is being proposed to address the anticipated impact on traffic along Lenni, Smithbridge and Valleybrook Roads for people traveling through Chester Heights to access the Wawa Station and the new Lenni Road Crew reporting building?
2) Will the project require additional land acquisition along the track or near the train stations at Lenni and/or Wawa?
SEPTA RESPONSE Received 3/21/2018 2:37PM:
"Regarding the questions on your website, I just want to clarify that the facility at Lenni is not a station. It is a place for our crews to report and use facilities before starting their shifts. It will not be a public facility. We have submitted a highway occupancy permit to PennDOT which will evaluate a completed traffic impact study. We plan to make improvements to the intersection of Valleybrook Road among other improvements. We have acquired some property (mostly near where the station will be located in Wawa) or construction easements along the right-of-way. Those pieces of property have already been acquired, and we do not anticipate any further acquisitions. Someone from our Real Estate Department will be at the Open House and can answer those questions."
Please take a moment to review the information on the links provided. The open house dates are below. If you cannot attend and have additional questions let us know at CHNA@mail.com and we will submit a list of questions to SEPTA on the residents' behalf.
For more information you can also contact Joe Connolly and Meghan Babcock at SEPTA directly.
SEPTA OPEN HOUSES:
At the Open Houses there will have staff from the SEPTA project team and Walsh Construction and other SEPTA representatives to talk about the project and operations once rail service is restored.
