Chester Heights  - History

Chester Heights is located in Delaware County, PA.

Established in 1945 it has a rich history that reaches back into the 1700's.

This year marks the 75th Anniversary of the incorporation of The Borough of Chester Heights.

On August 6, 1945, a petition was submitted to Delaware County requesting the incorporation of a new borough to be called The Borough of Chester Heights. The petition contained 108 signatures, representing the majority of property owners within the boundaries of the new borough. The Borough of Chester Heights was finally incorporated on September 21st, 1945.

Prior to its incorporation, Chester Heights had been a part of Aston Township. The first organizing meeting of the borough took place on January 7, 1946 at the Rosehill School located on Llewelyn Road.

We are continually updating our historical information as we discover new images and documents.
