Open Space Fund?

In 2017 Chester Heights Democrats ran on a platform of open space and a comprehensive infrastructure plan. True to their word at the December 4th, 2017 council meeting they approved resolution 12-17A to create the first ever OPEN SPACE FUND. In 2018 the council changed hands and the new council refused to deposit money into the open space fund.

We are excited to see that additional grant funding was secured and that more funding is proposed, however we are concerned with the lack of accounting integrity shown by current council. As the only council member with and Masters In Accounting, Councilwoman Susan Clarke has been removed from the finance committee. She has continued her diligence in reviewing the finances, however the finance committee chair refuses to place money into the fund, choosing instead to hold all the borough surplus funds (1.2M) in the general fund.

We are looking forward to hear from council on this full plan for this location.

What is the total cost?

What is the amount of the 2nd grant?

What is the full impact to the borough budget?

When will the funds be allocated to the Open Space fund?

Small details that matter in accounting and in good governing practices.

Voter Block, Clarke, Driscoll if good governance matters to you!
